11/18/08-Do you like Classic Rock like Pink Floyd, Cream and Tom Petty? Like newer Alternative rock like STP, Sublime and Finger 11? On Friday night, The Fizziks bring their heart pounding electric light show again to Hadley at Melba Mae's. This place serves as our northern "home away from home" with great food and cold beverages!! We start at 9.

11/11/08- Happy Veterans Day. The Fizziks will be enjoying a well deserved weekend off this week. We are preparing new material to rock your socks off when we come back out next Friday night in Hadley at Melba Mae's. New original and cover material will be in the works; come out and check us out!!

11/4/08-Happy Election Day!! Get out there and VOTE!!

This Thursday in Albany, The Fizziks band returns to a familiar venue, Savannah's. As part of the successful CRUMBS Night Out series, the 4-piece Capital Region rockers will be mixing covers with originals. You will hear anything from Pink Floyd to Sublime. The show is from 8-10; be there.  On Friday, the band travels to Watervliet to a new venue, Dapp's Tavern. The populare Siena tavern will be in for a treat as the band unleashes their auditory onslaught and fantastic light show.

10/28/08-Well, to say we can't believe it would be an understatement. This coming Saturday night is November 1st!! Where has the time gone? What the hell happened to summer? The colder weather is upon us. Football is in full swing and the World Series will be over either way by Saturday night. Halloween is the night before, but who cares? Make this weekend a true party weekend and come invade Watervliet with us on Saturday night!! Meet us at the Arc 9PM on Saturday for your fill of classic/alternative rock favorites!! Be there or be square!!

10/21/08-Well, it has been quite a busy month thus far for The Fizziks. We had two shows this past weekend and two this coming; not that we are complaining!! We love the work.

This weekend we will be visiting two of our more familiar haunts. On Friday night we will be invading Pinhead Susan's in Schenectady. We have been playing this place for years and it has always been a very cool, comfortable place for our friends and family to grab a drink and listen to us. We consider playing there having a "home field advantage"!! We start at 9.

On Saturday night we are back up in Hadley at Melba Mae's. This place serves as our northern "home away from home" with great food and cold beverages!! Plus the ride up the Northway is great for leaf peeping!! We start there at 9 as well..

10/14/08-Wow, what a wild ride last Saturday was for the band. First we played at the Robin's Nest in Broadalbin for PYX-106's Hometown Solider Fund. PYX 106's own Uncle Vito gave us some props-check it out on our Contact Us/Testimonials page. That night, we have a great time entertaining the crowd at Katie O'Byrne's. Hopefully we will be back really soon. This weekend, we will be first traveling to Averill Park to perform at the Towne Tavern. That show starts at 9. Saturday we will be playing closer to home at Ziggy's in Latham. See you there!!

10/7/08-First of all, we would like to thank the Little Theatre in Fort Edward for hosting a great fundraiser yesterday. We were able to raise some coin for a very good cause and that's always a good thing. This coming Saturday will be unprecedented for this band- two shows in one day!! First of all- the band will be traveling to Broadalbin, NY to the Robin's Nest to help out with the PYX 106 Hometown Solider's Fundraiser. Our set is from 4-6.

Here's a little blurb on it: ROCKTOBERFEST
to benefit Hometown Soldier Fund. $15 advance or at the door. Music and german style food, non-alcoholic beverages. Cash bar available. Entertainment by Uncle Vito of Pyx 106, DJ Midnight Mike, Full Throttle, Gabrielle, Fizziks, The Foxx, and Her Howling Boys. At Robin's Nest, Stevers Mill Road. Contact Robin's Nest for Info on Advance Tickets.

Later that evening, we will be making our debut at Katie O'Byrne's in Schenectady. This joint is usually packed with successful 20 and 30 somethings that like to party all night- so stop by!! Our set is 10:30-1!!!

9/30/08-Thanks to the Old Station Inn for being such great hosts last Saturday night. We will hopefully be back there real soon!! This week, The Fizziks will be playing a rare Sunday show at the Little Theater in Fort Edward. This is a benefit for a neighbor's son who had a brain tumor. We will be rocking from 3-6 with special guests The Joe Nacco Band!! Oh, by the way, no additional drama this week- but stay tuned, it's only Tuesday!!

9/23/2008-Well, as we have stated here on this blog many times before, change is the only permanent thing in life. We collectively have decided that Sloan didn't quite fit in what The Fizziks were looking to do, so we won't be proceeding with him. This leaves us back where we started, which isn't a bad thing. Let's just say that at the year's end The Fizziks will be taking a long look at the direction we are going in. Hey, at least it makes for great reading here on the blog! You know that every week there are new trials and tribulations for the band and you get a front row seat. Enjoy!!

9/16/2008-On Saturday, we will be back at one of our favorite haunts, Melba Mae's in Hadley. Situated on the Hudson, you can almost start to feel autumn rolling in there. We start there at 9. That's the current order of business- thank you for your attention- now, if we may, please focus on these next two statements- they are important!!

Annoucement # 1- The Fizziks will NOT be performing this Thursday night at Savannah's in Albany. We apologize to those who have made arrangements to come and see us, but there was a mix up and the club was double booked. We will have a new date shortly- please look for that on our website.

Annoucement #2-THE FIZZIKS ARE EXCITED TO WELCOME SLOAN TASH ON BOARD AS OUR NEW GUITARIST/VOCALIST!! Sloan comes to us from the music mecca of LA and has numerous years of experience in bands. He also has run live sound for years out there as well as fancing himself a pretty damn good videographer!! Sloan's first show will be October 5th at the Little Theater in Fort Edward. Jeremy will be handling duties for the day/night engagement of October 11th, but after that, Sloan will be on full time. A word of thanks and good luck must also go out to Jeremy, who has been with us for the last three years!! Godspeed!!

9/9/08-FIZZIKS, LLC is proud to announce its launch as a FULL SERVICE ENTERTAINMENT LIAISON focusing in the corporate market. Have a corporate event that needs a musical act? A private party in need of an acoustic duo? A children's party that wouldn't be the same without a clown or juggler. Allow FIZZIKS LLC to connect you with the most affordable and reliable acts around. Contact us at 1-888-250-4811 ext. 703 for more information!!!

9/2/08-Thanks go out to both the Lyons Lake/Melba Mae's staff for making our Labor Day weekend doubleheader very pleasant. This Saturday night, the band will be making it's South Street debut by playing the Irish Pub in Glens Falls. Our guitarist Joel will be playing a solo show earlier that evening around the corner at the Rock Hill Bake House (19 Exchange Street). Stop in and say hello to him and then follow him over to the pub for some late night fun and mischief!!

8/26/08-Major positive change is on it's way and we could be happier about it. Stay tuned for news on that front. This weekend the band is doing double duty- Friday night in Nassau at the Lyons Lake Inn and Saturday in Hadley at Melba Mae's. A little FYI- On Sunday, October 5th- The Fizziks will be recording our live DVD promoting the new corporate spin -(think time travel through the last four decades of rock and roll)- at the Little Theater in Fort Edward. Our friends The Joe Nacco Band will be joining us for the benefit/family reunion that will follow our taping. And you are all invited, of course!!

8/19/08-New shows have been booked. We had a great time at the benefit last Saturday and look forward to our return to Melba Mae's on the 30th. Tune in this Friday night at 8PM to 97.7 FM to hear some original material from the Fizziks!!

8/12/08-First things first, we are playing this Friday night at Pinhead Susan's in Schenectady. You know the joint- great food, cold beer, friendly faces. We start at 9- stop on by. On Saturday, we are proud to be a part of a fundraiser for Autism at Hadley Park in Hadley. 5 live bands, bouncy bounces for the kids, food vendors and so much more. We play 3-4, but the benefit runs all day from 9-5. Come on down and donate to a worthy cause!!

8/5/08-The Fizziks have been working delingently on new material, both original and cover, and plan to debut it this week! We are so excited to be playing at Savannah's this Thursday night from 8-11. First of all, we are playing right after Alive at 5, which is great because people already arrive in a partying mood. Secondly, we are teaming up with a VJ by the name of Brother Immortal who will be mixing in video to the music we are playing. This is a multimedia event not to be missed!! On Saturday, the band travels to Greenwich and the Old Station Inn. The last time we are there is was a blast and we expect nothing less this time around!

7/29/2008-Time is sure flying by; before you know it September will be here. Enjoy the heat while you can!!

7/22/2008-Happy Tuesday. New songs and shows are in the works. The band is looking forward to getting back to work in early August.

7/15/2008-The Fizziks will be taking the rest of the month off to prepare new material (both cover and original). Come visit us in August at Savannah's on August 7th.

7/1/2008-Welcome to July. Well, the year is half over at this point and time has been really flying by. The shows this weekend were stellar and we are excited to be stopping back in Hadley on July 12th. We will have some new shows posted for the Old Station soon as well. The band will be expanding it's scope throughout the remainder of the year; focusing more on corporate events/private parties and less on club shows. Info will provided to you as it becomes available, so keep an eye out. Also, if you feel that the Fizziks would be a good fit at your company's event, please call us on our business hotline at 1-888-250-4811 ext. 703 and leave a message. This Thursday, we will be back in Albany at Savannah's- stop down and say hi!!

6/24/2008-You know it's summer in upstate NY when droves of Jersey turkeys and city folk clog up the Northway!! Well, we can't promise you that you'll be the only one on the road, but we can promise you a great time. Twin guitars and hypnotic lights lead the way as The Fizziks "quantum leap" from the psychedelic sounds of the 60's to the arena rock power of the 70's, through 80's pop and 90's grunge to some of the hits of today!! Join us Friday in Hadley at Melba Mae's and Saturday in Greenwich at the Old Station Inn.

6/17/2008-It was a bit slow on the lake last Saturday, but we had a blast anyway. Shari and Barry are such good hosts- if you have the opportunity stop down to Lyon's Lake and say hello. We will be back on August 29th. We have this coming weekend off and will spend it preparing new material.

6/10/2008-Our thanks go out to Savannah's for being such great hosts last Thursday night. They liked us so much down there that they booked two more shows with us-one each in July and August. This Saturday night we will be playing a new venue- the Lyons Lake Inn in Nassau. The show starts at 8.

6/3/2008-Hitting Alive at Five in Albany this Thursday? Stop down to Savannah's right afterwards and catch the Fizziks during a rare Thursday night performance. We were originally scheduled to play this Friday, but the management thought it better to have us play after Dennis DeYoung from Styx does his thing. We will be playing all of your classic/alternative favs from the past 40 years-don't miss it!! There is also a possibility that we will be playing in Plattsburgh on Friday. If that is the case, you all will be the first to know.

5/20/2008- We would like to thank the Lighthouse Tavern for being great hosts to us last Saturday night. The band will be taking a few wekks off to learn new material... unless we run into a show. If that occurs, you will be the first to know.

5/13/2008-Great shows last week at both the Towne Tavern and Melba Mae's. This week we will be rockin' out at a new spot- The Lighthouse Tavern in Albany on Saturday. Be on the lookout for new shows and pics very soon!!

5/6/2008-The big news this week is that the Fizziks will be performing on June 7th at Pinhead Susan's annual summer block party. These things usually start somewhere around 3:00 and go all night. More information when it becomes available. Two shows this weekend- Friday night in Averill Park at Towne Tavern and this Saturday night in Hadley at Melba Mae's.

4/29/2008-We would like to thank our guitarist Joel for creating a link to Youtube for our promotional DVD footage. The footage can be found under our "Music/Promotional DVD" tab on our website. This Friday the band will welcome in May at one of our familiar haunt's- Pinhead Susan's in Schenectady. New shows are in the works.

4/22/2008- Hello again. We are back after a relaxing week of vacation and are stoked regarding the new promotional DVD. We have plans to market it to casinos, cruise lines and of course, clubs. A sneak peak is available under the "Music/Promotional DVD" tab on our website. Take a look and leave a comment letting us know what you think. Plans are already taking place for a live DVD performance later this year.

4/8/2008- The band anxiously awaits the arrival of our promotional DVD. It should be in our hands by the end of the week and as soon as it is, we will post  a clip or two here on the website. Our guitarist Joel has posted a few Youtube clips of recent performance on our myspace page (www.myspace.com/fizziksband)- please check them out. Friday night was jamming- Saturday not so much. The band will be taking the next few weeks to compile some new material and vacation before the busy season starts.

4/1/2008- Happy April Fool's Day!! The shows this past weekend were interesting to say the least (and that's no joke). Joel has assimilated quite nicely so far and the response has been outstanding. This Friday we will be invading a new joint (at least for us) in Chatham called Peint O'Gwrw (yes that is the correct spelling). It's lovingly called the "Pub" by townies, probably due to the fact that last word doesn't have any vowels in it. Saturday night we will be heading back to Gloversville for a show at the new Upper Deck.

3/25/2008-MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT- The band is excited to introduce Joel Marshall as our new second guitarist. Joel is a veteran of the local music scene and will add a new element to The Fizziks sound. Come out this weekend to Imperial Lanes in Amsterdam and Pinhead Susan's in Schenectady to see the new Fizziks lineup!!

3/18/2008- This week we will be returning to one of our favorite haunts- Melba Mae's in Hadley. They have award winning chili and blue cheese (don't eat these together though). We will be playing on Friday night, so stop out and listen to us and let's all root on Siena!!

3/11/2008-We would like to thank Best Bytes Media for all their help in the filming of our DVD this past Saturday. When we have the available clips, we will be posting them right here on our website. This Friday night we will be staying in Albany and playing at Cheers Roadhouse Grill. The show starts at 9:30- come on down.

3/4/2008-We are excited to be recording our DVD this Saturday night at Old Chicago. Stop down to the show- it starts at 9:30

2/26/2008-Hello. The band takes this coming weekend off to prepare for our live DVD recording on March 8th at Old Chicago. As you might remember, we were hoping to record it back on February 1st in Schenectady, but the weather reaked havoc with our plans

2/20/2008-Hello again. This week the band will be invading the Commercial Hotel in Mechanicville. Get your fill of classic and alternative rock with the Fizziks this Friday night!!

2/12/2008-The show at the Towne Tavern went very well. This week we are in Hadley at Melba Mae's-always a good time. See you there!!

2/5/2008-Well, due to the weather, we decided to postpone our DVD recording to sometime in March. More news on that when the date becomes solidified. This Friday the band will be traveling up to Averill Park to visit the Towne Tavern. Word has it that this joint has great food-come out and join us, would ya? It's only 30 minutes outside of Albany...

1/28/2008-Everyone had a hell of a time this past Saturday at King's Tavern. I should mention that you can see the Fizziks performing a cover of " Heartbreaker" here http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=27069206. This Friday the band will be recording its live DVD at Pinhead Susan's in Schenectady. The first 25 through the door will receive a FREE DVD. Show starts at 9..

1/22/2008-Hello again. The Fizziks will be performing a set at King's Tavern this weekend in celebration of our friend Sinister's birthday. The show starts at 9 and will have a few special guest performers. See you there. The band is also going to be stopping by for a meet and greet at the WAMC LInda on Thursday night. We will be there after 7.

1/15/2008-We would like to take this opportunity to thank Philly's Bar and Grill in Latham for being great hosts to our show this past Friday night. Everyone had a ball and we plan to be back there sometime in March or early April. Exciting news- The Fizziks plan to record a LIVE DVD on February 1st at Pinhead Susan's in Schenectady. The show starts at 9 and the first 25 to sign up for our mailing list get a FREE DVD!!!

1/7/2008- This past weekend was packed with two great shows- the first at Melba Mae's in Hadley and the second at Imperial Lanes in Amsterdam. Melba Mae's is always a good time- the people are very receptive and supportive. We will be back in February. It was the first time we played Imperial Lanes and despite the ice, it was a great time. Jeromie, Chris (our marketing associate) and Vincent even found some time for bowling. The band will be back there in March. This week, the band stays closer to home to play a show at Philly's in Latham.

12/31/2007- How do you like our new digs? Enhancements will be made expeditiously. Happy 2008!!!

12/26/2007- Man, that came quick, yes? Christmas has come and gone and now all eyes are on the next holiday. The nice thing about New Years is that there is no need to stand in long lines spending money you may not have on people you never see. The disadvantage is sharing the road on "amateur night". The Fizziks have solved that problem for you. Come and celebrate New Year's early with us at The Crooked Lake House in Averill Park (www.thecrookedlakehouse.com) from 8-12 this Friday. Located only 30 minutes outside of Albany, this joint has quite a history- specifically for being the upstate location for high stakes poker games with gangsters such as Legs Diamond and other debauchery during Prohibition. Join us and start the New Year off right!!!

12/18/2007- Good morning. The band has been booking dates in the New Year like mad and the focus for now is to create an incredible visual and audio spectacle-something very unique to this area. If you haven't been out to see us in a while, come out and check out the new sound and lighting- it's pretty cool.

12/11/2007- Well we have a bit a news this week as well. It seems our keyboardist Evan would be happier living in NYC and he has an opportunity to move there at the end of this month. We wish him well. The beat goes on and we will continue. Honestly we don't know how to do anything but go on..

12/4/2007- We are continuing to audition new guitarists and hope to have our new man or woman by the end of 2007. If you know anyone who is committed and sane, please send them our way.

11/27/2007-Well, in this business I guess nothing is permanant. Bob Fox decided that that commute from Queensbury to Albany was too far and will not be continuing with us. Auditions have already begun to fill the position and we will be using fill-ins until we find the right person. The show must go on. By the way, we never played that show last Wednesday on Saratoga Lake. The place never opened and the person who booked us didn't give us the common courtesy of a phone call letting us know.

11/19/07- There will be new pictures soon for sure, we promise. This Wednesday, the band will be traveling to a brand new venue, The Waterfront Grill and Oyster Bar in Saratoga Lake. Our first show this past Saturday in Hadley at Melba Mae's went very, very well. We will be there again sometime in January.

11/13/07- Boy are we excited!! This Saturday we will be debuting our new lineup in Hadley. Now we understand it's quite a hike to get there, but we promise it will be worth it. We also play on Saratoga Lake the night before Thanksgiving. Come and check it out!!

11/6/07- Major Announcement!!! The Fizziks are proud to present our new guitarist/vocalist Bob Fox. Bob comes to us from Queensbury area, but is no newbie to the Capital District music scene. He has been in bands for years, most recently Cor. Bob's first show will be at Melba Mae's in Hadley. A new bio and pictures are in the works..

10/30/2007-Hello and Happy Halloween. This week the band will be debuting its brand new keyboardist, Evan Iannitti. Evan comes to us by way of Skidmore College and is a welcome addition. See Evan this Saturday at the Tugboat Tavern!!

10/23/2007-It was quite an adventure getting to our show on Friday night, both Jeromie and I got majorly lost. The next time we shouldn't have the same issues. This week we are off, but next week we will be in Cohoes and debuting our new keyboardist Evan Iannitti.

10/16/2007- Major changes are in the works for the band including adding a keyboardist. We are very excited about this new direction and will be keep you in the loop every step of the way. This Friday we play in Hadley- hope to see you there.

10/9/2007- Last Friday night, The Fizziks performed at The Casino in Hullett's Landing. There were a few obstacles to overcome (like blowing a fuse in our first set), but a good time was had by all. After taking this weekend off, we are off to Hadley, NY to play Melba Mae's on October 19th.

10/2/2007- The Fizziks performed twice this past weekend. On Friday, we played one of our favorite spots- Pinhead Susan's in Schenectady. Decent crowd for most of the night. On Saturday, the band ventured to Coeyman's to play Yanni's Too, a bar/restaurant on the water. We toned down a bit of our first set to play for the dinner crowd, which was a nice change of pace. This Friday the band will be making our second appearance at The Casino in Hullet's Landing.

9/25/2007-Our thanks go out to the great people at the Rolling Stone, who always make our visits there a pleasure. This Friday we will be visting a favorite place of ours- Pinhead Susan's. Duality leads off the show with the Fizziks to follow.

9/17/2007-This Saturday, the Fizziks will be performing in Burnt Hills at the Rolling Stone. See you there!!!

9/11/2007- The band had a last minute engagement last Friday in Saratoga at a joint called It's Confidential. We played outside under a canopy to a receptive audience and look forward to venturing up there again soon.

9/4/2007- Welcome to September. This past Friday The Fizziks played a show in Lake Luzerne at one of our new favorite places- The Potash Inn. The response was wonderful and we will be appearing there again shortly. The band has an opportunity to play in Saratoga this Friday night. The details are being worked out as we speak and as soon as we know, you will know.

8/28/2007- Hello there. This past weekend's show at the Tugboat Tavern was a bit slow due to it being Travers day in Saratoga. The venue liked what we had to offer so we will be back. This Saturday we will heading back up to Lake Lazerne and the Potash Inn to celebrate Labor Day weekend.

8/20/2007- Our experience at the Ho-Down in Hullett's Landing was nothing short of remarkable. The people were very receptive- dancing well into the eveing. We would like to personally thank our stage dancers who enhanced the evening so. This SAturday we will be visting a new venue in Cohoes called The Tugboat Tavern. Hope to see you all there!!
